What is the $5 Challenge???
The five dollar challenge is simply choosing to sacrifice five dollars to not spend on something that you really don’t need, and use that money you didn’t spend to benefit your community, your nation, the Kingdom.
- An estimated 27 million people are enslaved around the world.
- 600,000 to 800,000 people are trafficked internationally every year. Approximately 80% of them are women and children.
- Every 3.6 seconds someone dies of hunger.
- 3 billion people struggle to survive on US $2/day.
The possibilities are endless.
It doesn’t take being a “Christian” to change the world, just the desire to make a difference.
If You’ve Got It...Spend It?
Every day we make many spending choices. Many of our choices include things we don’t really need. With so many commercials, advertisements, and our own desires for immediate gratification, we can quickly spend our entrustments fulfilling short-lived cravings.
We aren’t saying you shouldn’t have fun or enjoy what God has given you, but we are saying that we don’t need to overindulge in our pleasures. We all know there are things we think we need, but really don’t.
Many people want to do the big things, but neglect to see just as important the small things. It is great for us to have a large vision, to not limit God, and want to change the world.
The truth is if we are not faithful in the little things God will not give us the big things to be faithful with. This challenge will not only allow more money for God to use, but also will free us into making wise choices as good stewards with what our King has entrusted us with.
